Fact: the word “blog” comes from the term “web log.”
That’s either a fun and interesting piece of information, or common knowledge. I’m not sure.
Either way, it seems like a silly word. Not only does it sound like the name of the creature from the black lagoon, the word “blog” and its verb “blogging” have come to be associated with businesses’ blatant self-promotion, angsty teenagers pouring juicy TMI details into cyberspace, or really bad poetry. This is probably why I’ve abstained from jumping aboard the blogging bandwagon for so long.
But for lack of a better term, this too is a blog. It aspires to be a travel-blog describing the fantastic tourism product in B.C.’s lower mainland, which I’ve been lucky enough to experience first-hand. For many of you, the region isn’t too far away–a ferry ride or short plane trip perhaps. Hopefully I’ll be able to give you some ideas about all the fun stuff you can do right in your backyard.
However, this is also designed to be something of a photo-blog. You see, I figure my photos are much better shared with the world than left neglected in my hard drive.
I hope that my ramblings are somewhat entertaining and my photos are pleasing to the eye!
Enjoy!
Good blog. I can see why you were recommended for the “job” .
